Itinerary

Discover what awaits you day by day on this journey designed to inspire, connect, and help you grow.

  • Day 1 - Arrival & Welcome

    Guests arrive and are picked up in Maputo to begin the journey to Tofo (8h drive). It’s a day on the road, full of landscapes and a first introduction to Mozambique. Upon arrival, you’ll have time to settle in, relax, and explore your surroundings.

    In the evening, we host a welcome dinner the first opportunity to connect with the group.

  • Day 2 - Surf & Connect

    We start with a slow, easy breakfast before our first theory session & surf lesson in the morning.

    After lunch, the afternoon is all about relaxing: beach, pool, or simply resting.

    At sunset, we gather for a Sunset Yoga session, perfect for stretching and recharging.

  • Day 3 - More Waves & Ocean Safari

    Early breakfast and a full morning of surfing.

    After lunch, we’ll do an ocean safari. We’ll look for humpback whales, dolphins, manta rays and much more.

    The afternoon is to relax and explore the local restaurants for dinner.

  • Day 4 - Surf & Sunset Yoga

    After breakfast, we kick off another morning of surfing in the best waves in the area.

    The afternoon is for relaxing, ideal for massages, reading, or simply doing nothing.

    At sunset, we enjoy another Sunset Yoga session.

  • Day 5 - Cooking Experience + Movie night

    Today we take a break from surfing. After breakfast, we dive into local culture with a Mozambican cooking experience throughout the morning.

    The afternoon is completely free for you to relax.

    In the evening, we enjoy pizza & movie night, a cozy moment to unwind and connect.

  • Day 6 - Surf drone & Video Analysis

    Breakfast followed by a full morning of surf lesson & drone recording to analyze your progress.

    After lunch, we meet for a special surf theory session (video analysis).

    Time to rest in the afternoon and explore local restaurants for dinner.

  • Day 7 - Surf & Catamaran Boat Trip

    We’ll start with a breakfast and morning surf session.

    After lunch, we begin one of the most anticipated activities: our catamaran sunset tour, sailing through crystal-clear waters and enjoying the Mozambican sea.

    To finish the day we will join a Mozambican buffet for dinner with live music.

  • Day 8 - Last day in Tofo

    We have our last breakfast followed by a morning surf session.

    We’ll say goodbye to Tofo with one last Sunset Yoga and a goodbye dinner in the evening.

  • Day 9 - Drive to Kruger Park

    We start our journey to South Africa with an early departure for Kruger National Park.

    It’s a full day on the road, crossing breathtaking landscapes as we head into the border.

    We arrive at our accommodation near Kruger and end the day with dinner.

  • Day 10 - Safari Day

    Our wildlife immersion begins.

    Breakfast and a full day Safari in Kruger, one of the best places in the world to see the Big Five.

    At sundown, we’ll go for a sunset walk and close the day with dinner.

  • Day 11 - Panorama Route

    A full day dedicated to the Panorama Route, exploring beautiful landscapes and waterfalls.

    We finish with dinner at the accommodation.

  • Day 12 - Last Sunset Safari

    We’ll start the morning with a walk through the bushes of Marloth park.

    In the afternoon we’ll do one last sunset safari to say goodbye to Africa.

    Finishing the trip with a farewell dinner.

  • Day 13 - Goodbye ♡

    Final breakfast before the transfer to the Johannesburgo-Oliver Reginald Tambo. Departure is at 5am arriving to the airport at 12pm.

    Goodbye to the group and official end of the retreat.

Q&A

  • You should fly into Maputo International Airport (Mozambique). Please make sure your flight arrives before 8:30 AM, as our group transport to Tofo departs at 9:00 AM.

    For the return, you’ll fly out of Johannesburg (South Africa). We will arrive at Johannesburg Airport around 12:30 noon, so you can book any flight departing after that time.

  • We’ll be staying in two different accommodations, designed to match each part of the trip:

    In Mozambique, you’ll stay at Blu Tofo Hotel, a cozy beachfront hotel 15 min walk from the heart of Tofo. Rooms are shared between 2 people, offering comfort, ocean views, and a relaxed atmosphere perfect for unwinding after surf sessions and beach days.

    In South Africa, during our days in Kruger National Park, we’ll stay in a hostel-style lodge. Rooms are shared between 6 people, giving a fun, social, adventure vibe while being surrounded by nature and close to the safari action. Rooms are exclusive for us.

    Both accommodations are comfortable, clean, and chosen to match the spirit of each destination.

  • July and August are winter months in Mozambique and South Africa, which means temperatures are cooler but still pleasant. Days are usually sunny and mild, with daytime temperatures typically ranging from 22°C to 27°C, and cooler evenings that can drop to around 15°C.

    We recommend bringing light summer clothes for the beach and surf days, but also something warm and cozy for the safari and the cooler nights.

  • Maganda Experience was created as an experience where girls travelling alone can feel safe and make like-minded friends. You can also bring your friends!

  • It's time for girls to travel alone. No more "the world is too dangerous for a girl". Let's support each other to fulfil the dream of going to a country far away from home all alone. Let's make each other feel safe together.

  • No problem at all! The resort is suitable for any kind of diet & the food is very good!

  • Yes! Silvia will be there as the trip coordinator, making sure everything runs smoothly and that you feel supported throughout the entire experience.

  • Yes! Once you book the trip, we’ll give you access to the Maganda app, where you’ll find all the trip information, including a group chat to connect and meet the other girls before you arrive.

  • Any trip cancellation must be made in writing by sending an email to hello@magandaexperience.com in order to be considered eligible.

    •⁠  ⁠The deposit is non-refundable.

    •⁠  ⁠Cancellations made before 61 days before the trip start date will receive a travel credit equivalent to 50% of the trip's value, valid for 12 months (with the trip to be completed within this period)

    •⁠  ⁠Cancellations made within 60 days before the trip start date unfortunately do not qualify for a travel credit.

    Please note that the majority of services and accommodations are booked and paid to our suppliers 60 days before departure and are not refundable to us.

    Note: Please note that the trip will not be fully confirmed until at least 80% of the available spots are booked. If this is not met 60 days before departure, the organizers have the option to cancel the trip. In such cases, all payments will be fully refunded.
